I'm back! August Vacation: Day 1

It sure has been a while since I've had a real update.-- I feel like my head is spinning! Since the beginning of August I have not spent *one* night on a Friday or Saturday in my own bed. It really feels like I come home to work and then I'm off on the next adventure. I know, boo-hoo, poor Jessi. I will say, however, I am getting tired of traveling.

I am going to give y'all a run down of my August vacation(s) but I'm going to have to break it up into sections, as I just did too much to cover in one post (and I don't have that kind of time!) I am going to use the pictures to explain most of it, because the pictures tell the story of this amazing vacation.

The first day of our vacation began in the Bangor area (my old stomping grounds, where my Alma Mata is located- shout out to Husson! Woot.) We drove up to see my best friend Alyssa and her husband, Ted. On the way to Bangor we had to call in a drunk driver and it took the police *Forever* to catch the guy. He ended up side-swiping the guardrail and he had kids in his van- an epic fail.

The next morning (Saturday, August 7) we awoke to an amazing feast; giving us fuel to spend the day in one of the most beautiful places on earth: Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park

Jordan Pond

You *can't* go to Bar Harbor without eating at The Jordan Pond House.

The Popovers are legendary. Seriously.

After stuffing ourselves we went to the top of Cadillac Mountain to scope out the view!

Then it was off to our favorite beach! Sand Beach (Yes, that's what it's called.)

It was chilly, but wonderful.

Thunder Hole.
We didn't meet up with the tide so it didn't "thunder" and blast us with water but, it was still cool. I was hoping Aaron would get to see it in all its glory but, alas, he didn't.

We ended the day by eating ice cream at my favorite local haunt and doing some shopping downtown. I treated myself to some Maine Tourmaline, a bracelet, I deserve it.
We had to tease Ted about his twin in this picture, LOL.
On the way home we ordered 3 (yes, three) large pizzas from Pat's Pizza- a Maine Legend! (a major staple of my diet when I was in college)

Stay tuned for the next installment.
