You know what I have observed in the last couple of days? Manny needs routine and structure. It sounds absolutely ridiculous to mention it in a blog, but, I think it's cute as hell and I want to remember it.

I have been spending A LOT of time on-line lately. A LOT. Probably a few to several hours per day. If I'm not working, I'm on-line (even when I am working I still have my yahoo email open) No, no, I don't have an addiction to the Internet. I actually hate being on-line so much but with the things on my plate right now, the heaping servings of responsibility, I need the Internet to help me take care of some things.

Anyway, I digress. Usually when I get up in the morning I start going about my day; doing chores, laundry, dishes, paying bills and I'm running all over the house. But for the last two weeks the minute I get up I come downstairs and go on-line. Manny cannot stand being without me, so we go through the same routine every morning.

Friday morning, however, I realized it wasn't coincidence. I was up, online, and Manny comes downstairs and sits on the couch next to me. He does his usual scratching to my arm, so I get up and feed him. He just looks at me. What? Manny NOT EAT? I was immediately concerned. My boy has a very 'healthy' appetite.

So I sit back down and he scratched me again and again (in "Manny-speak" this means he needs something.) I get up and say, "You wanna go out?" and he runs around in circles. I take him outside, he does his business and then comes in and devours his entire breakfast.

Yesterday morning I get up, he follows. I sit down, he scratches. I take him out, he does his business. When he comes in he sits at his bowl waiting for breakfast.

This morning was the same. I've even noticed that it's the same when we walk. We go for long walks in the morning and he likes to go the same route, every time. If I deviate from the formula he will get anxious. He's a weird little one and I think it's precious.
