January 10th was one of the best days I've had recently. One of my very best friends, Stephani, came to New Hampshire for her baby shower. Now, to understand the relationship I have with Steph, I'd have to go all the way back to high school when she sat behind me in geometry and we used to make fun of the giant hairy mole our teacher had smack-dab in the middle of her face (we were awful, but we had fun.) Anyway, that was about 11 or 12 years ago and to this day we still have not lost touch. She lives in Jersey, (fist-pump) and well, y'all know where I live. You can do the math... it means I don't see her very often.
I've always felt, to some extent, that Steph was my little sister; protective of her, like she was my little baby. But now, my baby is having a baby! A baby girl! I am just so happy for her and her husband, Mark. They are going to be great parents!
Without fail, whenever I see Steph, I cry. I hear the gasps. It's true. I am NOT a "crier" per se. Rarely do I shed a tear, but when I see Steph, I can't help it. She has been such a loyal and dear friend to me that I truly consider her family.

But so did everyone else :)
I cannot wait until her little "oui one" arrives ;) She is going to be delicious-- just like her mommy.
