Toby's Birthday

Our little boy turned TWO on May 23rd. I can't believe he's TWO.

On the 17th we had a small, (immediate family only,) party for him at our house. The theme was, of course, Peter Rabbit. Peter is his lovey and he is rarely seen without him.

A little candy and sweets table. And yes, I made carrot lollipops. 

While Toby did get some really nice gifts, we also asked for donations to a local rescue farm be considered instead. I'm really happy to say that a nice chunk of change was sent to a non-profit farm that Toby enjoys.

On May 23rd, Toby's actual birthday, Aaron had to work and we were traveling to Maine that evening for the long weekend. We did Toby's presents early; right when he woke up. I think it was around 5:30 AM. 

His "Day out with Thomas" tickets arrived the day before (from my Dad) so we clipped them to a place mat we bought. He is going to be BESIDE himself when he gets to spend the day with "Choo-choo" this summer!

We had been wanting to get him a balance bike, so I put Aaron totally in charge of that (obviously.) We ended up going with the Trek Kickster. Toby LOVED it. Daddy even got him a neat little gatorhorn!

One of my oldest and "bestest" friends, Steph, sent him the basketball hoop. He had no idea it was coming and we set it up the night before. He was so excited!

"What's all this?"

I will admit, the horn, at 5:30AM was a bit... intense.

Only my kid would be excited for clothes.

I can't believe he's TWO. We just love him so much!

Two years ago today, at 3:54 PM, Tobias Herbert Molloy came into this world.

More Farm Fun

Last week was our "April vacation." While we spent most of it hanging around the house and getting some projects finished, we also traveled North to the Farm to help my parents butcher chickens.

I am so incredibly proud of my husband. Butchering isn't a job anyone really wants to do but, Aaron did it (like a champ) to make sure we had fresh poultry to eat this year; no chemicals, salt-water injections, or medicated feed in our chicken! Although the reason for our visit was for slaughtering, Aaron and Dan were able to get it done quickly so we could spend some quality time with my parents on the farm. Toby is just so happy there. He loves Mimi and Papa so much.

I will admit, while at the farm, I was totally the "mamarazzi" ... following my kid around clicking away like a maniac as he "ooh'd and ahh'd" at all the farm has to offer.

This picture is probably one of my top ten favorite pictures of Toby, ever. While I was hoping to capture a serious picture of him, I didn't know that Aaron was sneaking up behind me; only Toby could see him. I don't know if I can explain what I feel about this picture but, Aaron loves his son so much... and Toby loves his Dad. Not that this is notable, because really, isn't that how it works? But the love they have for each other isn't what I expected. I always knew Aaron would be a great dad but I didn't expect for him to be such a natural parent. It comes really easy for him. And it's evident.

No, we're not keeping him caged all the time. He loved it in there. He pretended to walk around like a chicken. It was hilarious!
